APPEND Outstanding Client – Leaders
“Leadership matters.”
Starting 2021, on APPEND’s 30 years of existence and during the 29th APPEND Leadership Conference, we honor and recognize our first outstanding leaders from amongst our client-members, the Nanays (mothers) and Tatays (fathers) who have been our community partners in implementing our microfinance and community development programs. The Outstanding Leaders Awards are given to select leaders that have exemplified industry, perseverance, love, discipline and responsibility towards our members, community, environment and their microfinance institutions. Along with the client-leaders, we also recognize their Project Officers who have been helping shape the values and leadership skills of our Nanays and Tatays.
1. OBJECTIVES
a) To institutionalize the recognition of the best performing client leaders
b) To inspire & encourage the member-clients excel in serving our co-members, family and community and environment
c) To strengthen the partnership between our member-leaders and our MFIs in realizing their mission on poverty alleviation.
I. CRITERIA
A. Eligibility
a) Client Leader for at least three years (Male or Female)
b) With existing business running for at least two years
c) Repayment rate of 100% (benchmark of screening 2020)
d) Have not received any award from any award-giving organization
e) Has a good reputation in the community
B. Criteria for Judging
1. Average Annual Enterprise Income (Net)
2. Number of Employees
3. Length of Stay in the MFI
4. Innovativeness and Creativity (Malikhain Award)
5. Resiliency during COVID (Matatag Award)
6. Consciousness of and Care for the Environment (Maalaga sa Kalikasan Award)
7. Community Service (Serbisyong Pampamayanan Award)
8. Family Care and Household Management (Agapay Pamilya Award)
C. SPECIAL AWARD CATEGORIES
1. Service Innovation and creativity (Malikhain)
· Ability to conceive and implement new approaches in leading & serving his/ her co-members, family and community. He/ she initiates & embraces change positively.
2. Resiliency during COVID – (Matatag)
· Capacity of the leader to recover quickly from difficulties that they experience during the pandemic and to influence his/ her co-members, family, employees & community to thrive amidst the crisis.
3. Contribution to environmental protection (Maalaga sa Kalikasan)
· Showing utmost care for the environment by supporting or implementing programs / activities that help protect the environment & address environmental problems & issues in their community.
4. Community service (Serbisyong Pampamayanan)
· Organizes or supports programs that provides opportunity for his/ her family, co-members and community to be involved in activities & decisions that greatly benefit the lives of other people.
5. Family care (Agapay Pamilya)
· Cares deeply about the wellbeing of families by implementing or supporting programs that provide services that address the specific needs of families in their community.
